Angels Fall First boarding guide

Boarding is not a single button press. It is a five-stage objective action that starts with target choice, crosses the fleet battle, and ends inside a ship where your team must disable, capture, defend, or abandon the correct objective.

Checked and updated July 13, 2026

Start with the official ship tutorial, then practice the whole sequence rather than only the flight approach. A successful boarding action must help the current match objective; reaching an enemy interior without a useful target is only a change of scenery.

The five-stage boarding flow

  1. Confirm the target matters. Read the current objective and decide whether boarding will disable a subsystem, open a capture route, remove pressure from your fleet, or create a defensible interior foothold.
  2. Plan the approach. Identify the launch point, the target's movement, nearby defenses, and a route that does not expose the transport longer than necessary.
  3. Attach and enter as a group. Wait for the scenario-supported boarding route, then move through the entry point without blocking teammates or scattering.
  4. Fight toward the relevant interior task. Follow objective markers and current tutorial prompts. A bridge, subsystem, lockout, or capture space only matters when the active scenario recognizes it.
  5. Hold, transition, or withdraw. Reassess after the objective changes. Defend the result, move to the next internal task, or leave before the boarding party becomes isolated from the wider battle.

Before leaving the hangar

  • Finish the ship tutorial through its boarding and subsystem lessons.
  • Know what the current objective expects from the target ship or station.
  • Confirm the transport route has enough support to reach the target.
  • Watch where allies are spawning, launching, and already applying pressure.
  • Plan what you will do after entry rather than improvising in the first corridor.
  • Keep an exit or respawn decision in mind if the interior objective moves elsewhere.

Interior priorities after entry

PriorityWhat to doCommon mistake
OrientFind the active marker, identify the return route, and keep the group moving in one direction.Splitting at the first junction without knowing which path serves the objective.
Secure entryCreate enough space for following players to enter and respond.Chasing defenders so far that the entry point is immediately lost.
Pressure systemsRepair, destroy, or lock out the subsystem identified by the tutorial or scenario.Attacking scenery or inactive systems because an older guide named them.
Play the objectiveCapture, defend, or clear the space the current mode recognizes.Treating interior kills as the goal after the objective has moved.
ReassessCheck whether the fleet battle now needs defense, another boarding wave, or withdrawal.Remaining aboard after the action no longer changes the match.

Why a boarding attempt fails

Failure pointLikely causeNext adjustment
ApproachThe transport crosses exposed space without fleet pressure or a target plan.Wait for allied pressure, shorten the route, or choose a target that affects the current objective.
AttachmentThe team is using an old assumption about where or how entry occurs.Follow current tutorial prompts, HUD feedback, and the scenario-supported attachment route.
EntryPlayers arrive separately or block the transition space.Regroup before entry and clear enough room for the next player to move.
NavigationThe party chases defenders instead of the active interior objective.Return to the marker, preserve a known route, and move as a unit.
ObjectiveThe interior action no longer supports the wider match state.Defend the achieved result, transition to the next task, or withdraw.

How to practice boarding safely

  1. Complete the space-combat tutorial. It explicitly includes boarding, subsystem work, and core lockouts.
  2. Use a damage-free practice environment. Learn launch, orientation, targeting, and return before adding live pressure.
  3. Run a bot scenario. Practice reading the objective and moving from the fleet layer into an interior fight.
  4. Review the failed stage. Separate approach, attachment, entry, navigation, and objective mistakes instead of changing everything at once.

Angels Fall First boarding FAQ

How do you board a ship in Angels Fall First?

Treat boarding as a five-stage objective action: select a useful target, approach through the fleet battle, attach or enter using the route supported by the scenario, fight toward the relevant interior objective, then hold or withdraw according to the match state.

Which tutorial teaches boarding?

The official space-combat tutorial covers boarding alongside fighter flight, targeting, subsystem repair, subsystem destruction, and core lockouts.

Is every capital ship boarded the same way?

No. Exact entry points, prompts, interior routes, and objective rules vary by map, mode, ship, and current game state.

Can boarding be practiced with bots?

Official sources confirm full bot support and damage-free practice or wargame environments for learning ships and equipment. The exact boarding setup available in each practice space still depends on the current scenario.
